Writers' Society: Events Manager

I'm very passionate about the writer's society. I'm looking to collaborate with the president & the chairs to create a host of events.

I mainly want to bring some new event types into the rotation, such as:

- Poetry and prose from other languages, where you get to showcase translated (or original) pieces from other languages that speak out to you. This will serve as a great means to help expand our views, as different cultures have very rich rules (or lack thereof) that can serve as interesting new mediums for us to explore writing.

- Speed writing workshops, where we gather and come up with a set of prompts or words that we then use to create pieces within a brief span of time. This can range from using every prompt in a single piece, to having word limits, etc.

- Showcase authors, where we gather to discuss the works of well-known or upcoming authors and how they relate to us, or what inspirations we can take from them.

I also aim to create more vibrant open-mic nights, encouraging more people to join in, and holding termly open mic competitions, where the top 3 pieces will receive rewards.

I want to be a very open person you can approach with your ideas and look forward to gathering feedback regularly.
