Georgia Gera De Petri

I wish to stand for this position as this role is crucial in ensuring the wellbeing and support of the societies members. I believe that I am well suited for this role as I am a very compassionate and empathetic person with a genuine passion for welfare advocacy - this role would allow me to make a positive impact on the mental health and overall wellbeing of other society members, an action I deem necessary. I am confident that I would be a great fit for this role as I have already started thinking ahead as to what changes I would like to implement - I would create many programs and opportunities to promote a healthier and more supportive environment by hosting a range of welfare-based activities, including small afternoon get togethers like picnics or board game brunch type events, mental health awareness campaigns, Instagram posts dedicated to mental health awareness and useful resources for anyone in need of further support (I think this is fundamental since there is limited exposure to the wellbeing resources UCL offers - access to these resources is crucial for students especially during exam season). In this role I would also be able to facilitate cohesion between the members of the society and creating a sense of community - I am convinced that this is important as it will create a stronger, larger and more diverse support system by facilitating friendships and creating meaningful relationships between society members.

Jimin Kim

Hi everyone, I am Jimin, a 2nd year Medical sciences and Engineering student. As my degree suggests, I am interested not only in the field of medicine but also in structuring technologies and applying varied techniques to setups like hospitals, clinics, and more. This society clubs my interests in the best possible way and will be a chance to network with people in the field. With such passion, I believe I will do a good job in organising events, widening participation, and ensuring that the topics we discuss encourage growth for all members. I am friendly and easy to work with which makes me a good team player and will ensure that we put up the best opportunities for all of you.

The following list is what I will aim as a Welfare officer:

  1. Work with the group members to ensure safeguarding and diversity and inclusion information for making peaceful atmosphere in the society.
  2. Work with the Committee members for utilising the events and works to complete of any action plan to address the successful results for everyone.
  3. Engage and support the members of this society to help them to not hesitate to approach those trustworthy committee members.
  4. Be a good listener and friendly by caring and understand the situations that might happen during the events or when organising the events.
Helen Bao

As a third-year student of the department and "surgical sciences" lover, I am eager to help bring alive the society. With previous experience as welfare officer, I am aware of my responsibilities in creating an inclusive and open-minded environment. I hope to be able to contribute to a year of exciting events and help the other members run the society smoothly. Thank you :)
