Ruiwen Zhang

Hi everyone, I'm Ruiwen. I'm thrilled to announce my candidacy for Vice President of the UCL Political Risk and Intelligence Society! As someone deeply immersed in Economics, Politics and finance both at UCL and outside, I believe I can bring a fresh perspective to our society.

Why am I running? It's simple. I'm passionate about blending academic insights with real-world applications, especially in the realms of global finance and public policy, and I'd like to share my academic experience and work experience in both the public and private sectors.

Inclusivity is key in my vision for PRIS. No matter your study background, I'm committed to ensuring everyone finds their place and can contribute meaningfully.

Another focus will be to strengthen our connections with industry professionals. Imagine gaining insights directly from experts, giving us a head start in our future careers.

Let's make PRIS a hub for future leaders, a place where we're not just learning but actively shaping our understanding of the field.

Your support means we can take PRIS to new heights. Let's do this!

Manon Ring

Hi everyone! I'm Manon and I’m thrilled to be running for VP! I’m a second-year Politics, Sociology and East European Studies student which explains my interest in Political risk and intelligence and my motivation to actively take part in this society! If appointed VP, my priorities will be:

  • Enhance Engagement: Develop more interactive platforms like workshops and simulation exercises
  • Broaden Networks: Strengthen our connections with professionals through interactive speaker events
  • Listening and responding to the needs of the society: ensure all members feel happy and supported, keep the society organised and effective while fostering internationalism and inclusivity.

Thanks to previous internships and extra-curricular activities, I believe I have developed a strong set of abilities necessary for this role: I own solid administrative and communication skills, and doing ballet at a National level developed my pragmatism and meticulousness. Allying this practice with IB training provided me with a solid work capacity while actively participating in numerous international MUNs developed my problem-solving and leadership skills.

Wishing to push the society in the right direction and continue the amazing work done by the current committee, I would be very eager to take on the role of VP. I look forward to bringing my passion and expertise to this exciting role!
