Candidates

Jey Chung

I would like to run for the position because I have strong copywriting skills that have been developed for over 5 years in various industries, so I am highly ept in content creation. I have some experience in graphic design and have ran multiple social media platforms for other student societies, NGOs, and other youth-led organizations. I believe that content to be published on social media should be understandable and accessible, such as promoting events or other information. An idea I would implement is brief rundowns of major topics and debates to keep our social medias fun.

Kristaps Kallaste

Hi, my name is Kristaps. I am running for Publicty Officer.

The UCL Philosophy Society plays an integral role in fostering a space open to complex, in-depth intellectual discussion between students of all backgrounds. As Publicty Officer, I will work to ensure increased outreach, growth and brand awareness of our society, so that it may prosper in the years to come.

To achieve these goals, I will:

  • Create a cohesive and dynamic social media presence, opting for bold and creative design choices
  • Expand our online presence onto new platforms
  • Reshape the society's website and LinkTree
  • Design official PhilSoc merchandise
  • Vitalize our collaboration with POLIS

I believe that I have the skills and experience for the role. I was a Marketing Exceutive at the larget society at UCL and I am currently the President of Marketing of UCL Impact Investment Society and the Marketing Director of a London-wide student led investment firm. Furthermore I have worked as the CBO of two different start-ups, leading website creation, copywriting, logo design and more. I have managed and created content for multiple social media accounts, designed clothing, and have gathered 4 years of experience in Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Illustrator.

Examples of my work can be seen here (included at the very top are also two philosophy-related mock-ups I recently created to give an idea of my vision for the branding of PhilSoc)

I look forward to the opportunity of helping PhilSoc grow and flourish!
