Paediatric and Child Health Society: Logistics Lead and Event Management Officer

Hi everyone! I’m Izabella, currently a second-year Applied Medical Sciences student, keen on pursuing a career in the field of paediatrics. My interest in paediatrics and child health stems from my previous volunteering experiences at a school for the deaf in Myanmar and at 2 therapy centres for children with autism, ADHD in Singapore. 

Having first-hand experience helping children from a wide variety of different backgrounds, I know how much of a difference one individual can make to a child’s life. Therefore, as logistics lead and event management officer, I aim to: 

1. Advocate for and share diverse volunteering opportunities within the vast field of paediatrics.
2. Ensure that talks from experts within the field of child health take place 
3. Disseminate information about events and opportunities that our society has to offer to fellow students in my course, which is part of the Integrated Medical Sciences courses in UCL. This programme encompasses courses such as Nutrition and Medical Sciences, as well as Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences. As a non-medical student, I will be able to provide a voice for and reach non-medics who share an interest in paediatrics. My aim is to provide opportunities to individuals aspiring for various child health careers (e.g. paediatric nutritionists, etc.).

If elected for this position, I will work closely with the committee to plan meaningful events and fulfil the aforementioned aims. Thank you.
