Having volunteered at Project Nyay'ri(NGO) from 20 Apr 2023 - 20 Jun 2023, my role encompassed ideating and creating content, outreaching to organisations for collaborations and partnerships, leading workshops with counsellors for awareness on legal rights and mental health, and contributing to the overall building of the project

Just as I addressed the specific needs of women during my time at Project Nyay'ri, my role as Chief Editor involves understanding and catering to the unique tastes and preferences of our audience. The fashion landscape is diverse, and by focusing on nuanced aspects, I bridge gaps in understanding, ensuring our content resonates deeply.

Much like the impact witnessed at Project Nyay'ri, my work as Chief Editor will extend beyond the glossy pages or digital screens. It's about empowerment, collaboration, and societal betterment. By showcasing diverse voices, fostering inclusivity & sustainability, and highlighting the intersectionality of fashion and culture, I actively contribute to the betterment of our fashion community.

I wish to extend my content creation experience to the pulse of contemporary style. I wish to stand as the curator of a narrative that transcends fashion stereotypes, acknowledging the power of style to shape perceptions, instigate conversations, and foster positive change. My stance is about about leading, guiding, and crafting a fashion discourse that mirrors the richness and diversity of the world we inhabit.

Veronika Liutarevich

Hello MODO!!,

I am thrilled to announce my nomination for the position of Editor-in-Chief for MODO fashion magazine of our society. I LOVE fashion, and I want to help showcase the unique styles of our members in this years MODO Magazine editions. I envision MODO as a dynamic platform that not only showcases the latest trends but also explores the diverse narratives within the fashion world.

This year, I want to explore the topic of technology in fashion and dedicate one of the editions to new materials, futuristic style, and feature stories from fashion Girlies in STEM who break the lab coat+glasses stereotype on the daily.

Ideas for MODO magazine:

  1. Diverse Styles: Highlight a range of styles, embracing cultural diversity, body positivity, and unique fashion expressions within our UCL community.
  2. Sustainability Spotlight: Devote sections to sustainable fashion, featuring eco-friendly brands, upcycling tips, and interviews with advocates driving positive change in the industry.
  3. New viewpoints (literally) : Introduce elements like behind-the-scenes shots and 360-degree fashion shoots.
  4. Collaboration with UCL Arts Society: Partner with UCL Arts Society to integrate art and fashion, including arts sketches into MODO magazine, showcasing that fashion is just as much an Art form as others.

I am excited about the prospect of leading MODO to new heights and creating a fashion narrative that resonates with every member. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas!

Athanasia Athanasopoulou

Hi :) my name is Athanasia and I'm a third year Sociology student. Over the last year, I was took up the role of editing executive to help bring about MODO's print magazine. I loved every second of my experience last year and adored the creative and inclusive atmosphere the magazine encouraged. This year, I'm running for Editor-in-Chief because I want to continue contributing to one of MODO's major annual projects and I am dedicated to creating editions that are inclusive, creative, and original. I believe that the magazine is a safe and inclusive space for people to explore their love for fashion: be it through writing about something you’re passionate about or conducting a fashion shoot.

I hope to make a few changes to the magazine this year, to make it more artistically-leaning while also allowing space to discuss the fashion industry itself. As editor-in-chief, I would push the boundaries of what our magazine can achieve in terms of content and the audience it reaches. I am committed to working my hardest to make sure we create a magazine that reflects just how wonderful MODO society is.
