Blanche Hang

I am a second year Global Humanitarian Studies student, and this is also my second year in the society. I would like to nominate myself as this year's social media officer.

As I study humanitarian-related subjects, I have a great passion for issues related to humanitarian work, such as child welfare, education, the rights of children and vulnerable groups, and security in refugee camps. I have a strong desire to contribute to these causes and make a positive impact on the lives of children and vulnerable groups.

As for this position, I believe that social media is a powerful tool for disseminating information and updates on humanitarian crises and relief efforts. I intend to use my knowledge to ensure that accurate and relevant information is shared with the public.

During last year's fundraising events, I found that many students were not aware of the main thrust of UNICEF and the contributions that the organisation has made, so I hope to be able to introduce more ongoing issues such as video interviews or stories behind UNICEF on, for example, Instagram, in order to give people a better understanding of how NGOs work.

I have learnt a lot and therefore I want to combine my academic knowledge with practical experience to share with the public, and play a role in advocating for the well-being of children and vulnerable groups through effective communication and engagement on social media platforms.

Lilia Michaut

I've been involved with UNICEF since I was 16, starting as a UNICEF Young Ambassador during high school in France. I organized an awareness campaign on young women's excision and promoted it on social media as a co-director of fundraising.

During my first year at UCL, I joined the UCL Unicef Society and actively participated in its events. I'm excited to apply for the social media role to expand my involvement with the society. Thanks for considering my application!

Sasha O'Brien

Hi! My name is Sasha and I'm studying Arts and Sciences, majoring in Psychology and Migration Studies. I am half Peruvian and half British, but grew up in Germany and lived there for 16 years. I would love to be Social Media Officer in the In Aid of UNICEF Society because I have experience working in social media and really enjoy it. I volunteered in a refugee shelter for a year and regularly made Instagram posts for the organisation, additionally I currently create posts for a non-profit in London every week. Hope I can get your votes!

Anna Prayoonthamrongthiti

Having gained experience as a social media manager in the past years, I have developed a strong interest in promoting awareness of children’s rights to access to sufficient healthcare and other basic essentials through the use of social media.

One of my achievements is founding a charitable business at my old boarding school in the UK. My roles include running the Instagram page by creating event posts and other visual content, as well as organising bake sales to raise funds for the Ukrainian refugees and a food bank in Fleetwood.

Other than producing visual contents to engage our society's active members, I am experienced at producing video contents such as reels. For example, I filmed previous fund-raising events to edit reels for @rossallbeavery in order to encourage participation in future events.
