Election post
I am a second year Global Humanitarian Studies student, and this is also my second year in the society. I would like to nominate myself as this year's social media officer.
As I study humanitarian-related subjects, I have a great passion for issues related to humanitarian work, such as child welfare, education, the rights of children and vulnerable groups, and security in refugee camps. I have a strong desire to contribute to these causes and make a positive impact on the lives of children and vulnerable groups.
As for this position, I believe that social media is a powerful tool for disseminating information and updates on humanitarian crises and relief efforts. I intend to use my knowledge to ensure that accurate and relevant information is shared with the public.
During last year's fundraising events, I found that many students were not aware of the main thrust of UNICEF and the contributions that the organisation has made, so I hope to be able to introduce more ongoing issues such as video interviews or stories behind UNICEF on, for example, Instagram, in order to give people a better understanding of how NGOs work.
I have learnt a lot and therefore I want to combine my academic knowledge with practical experience to share with the public, and play a role in advocating for the well-being of children and vulnerable groups through effective communication and engagement on social media platforms.
