Robyn Aaron

Hi everyone! I’m Robyn, a second year Philosophy student.

I’m nominating myself to be social media manager for GenFem primarily because it’s a really fun and important society and I’d love to have the opportunity to work with the committee to help it function as well as possible for everyone.

As you probably know, as social media manager, the key responsibility is to communicate with all the members of the society in a way that’s engaging and creative. As deputy head girl in school one of my main duties was marketing the events we ran, projects we undertook and who the student leadership was to the whole school. This meant making lots of posters to be displayed around school and slides to be shown to the students. So, while not in social media, I have some experience with creative communication!

Given the role I would aim to…

  • Continue letting you know when and where events (both the regular meetings and fun extras) are being held
  • Use our social media to show what a lovely society GenFem is, making sure that all freshers that would want to join know that we exist!
  • Take responsibility for open and effective communication between society members and the committee via social media, especially when it comes to suggestions

GenFem's aims and the issues we discuss are one’s I’m very passionate about, as I’m sure all of you are! So having the chance to use this passion, alongside the creativity and interaction a social media role involves, would be amazing. THANK YOU <3

Sarah Gu

As an intersectional feminist, I am deeply passionate about challenging stereotypes, combating sexism, and empowering individuals of all genders, I have always been actively involved in advocating for gender inclusivity and equality. Effective communication is such a key tool in raising awareness and I would love to be the social media manager and share what's going on at GenFem so more people could come and join our insightful and fun conversations!

Also as someone who might be slightly obsessed with social media, I have run/run an editing as well as a cooking (trying not to burn down the kitchen) account. I absolutely love content creation, starting with fun bday stories for friends, to making movie posters and feminism themed graphic designs, using Canva, Picsart, MediBang...you name it. It's always fun to be creative...and ofc feminist (not sure if "fun" is the most appropriate word to describe but oh well that is who I am)

Anyways I would love to be the social media manager for GenFem <3
