Hello!
My name is Ioulitta Karvounis, a 3rd year Biological Sciences student on the Zoology route, and I would be honoured to fulfil the role of the newsletter editor in ELLS. I have a very clear vision for the newsletter this year and would love to develop it to be the best it can be, while editing and working on the submissions in order to produce intricate pieces of work. I would also focus on developing the website for ELLS, with the aim of aesthetically displaying the visions of the society as well as producing clear pages for society events, general environmental events/lectures in London to attend, article submissions by our members, current news, further reading and more!
Overall, I would love to be the newsletter editor for ELLS and hope you will consider me :)
Hi, my name is Jade and I am a BA Geography undergraduate with a passion for confronting and tackling environmental issues. Environmental law is the career path I would like to pursue after my geography degree since it provides the ideal framework for addressing the complex and interconnected challenges posed by environmental issues. As the newsletter editor for the Environmental Law and Life Science Society (ELLS), I would have the chance to educate and inform my peers about crucial environmental issues and the current legal developments and sustainability practices enabled to confront them. I would be able to contribute to the broader understanding, discussion and dissemination of environmental challenges and their solutions within the university community. Therefore, if I am appointed to this role, I would be excited to start the newsletter for the ELLS and keep anyone interested in this sector updated on the latest environmental law news and developments.
Hi everyone,
My name is Pierre Geraud, I am a French Affiliate student in Law from Panthéon-Assas University.
Firstly, this year at UCL is a great opportunity for me to engage with ELLS, meet new people, participate in humanly rewarding projects.
For several years now, I have been conducting written reflection on social and public policy issues with other students. In fact, I developed the Sphaera Publica project, dealing with economic, environmental, social and political issues (link: sphaerapublica.fr). ELLS will be able to rely on this experience if I become newsletter editor.
Sphaera Publica is a French project but promised I master very well the language of Shakespeare in writing! Last year, I was Secretary General of the British association of my university. In this context, I wrote articles in English. Here the link: https://aclsparis2com.wordpress.com/news/
Moreover, I am particularly involved in France at the territorial level, where the environmental issue is central. I became this year Great Elector for the French Senate, where I had the opportunity to reflect on the French Biodiversity Net Gain which is currently being debated in France.
Finally, I am sure this newsletter can be an excellent opportunity to make comparisons on environmental policies between the UK and other countries such as France, with interesting debates in perspective!
Looking forward to see you soon around a drink, not just to talk about environmental issues of
