For a long time, I’ve been a passionate fan and supporter of all things drag. From the first episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race I watched, I knew I had to immerse myself completely in the world and culture of drag and all things LGBTQIA+. I already thoroughly enjoy attending events, screenings etc, and with a buzz for organisation, this seems like the best fit role for me!
A massive thing I think is crucial for this role is the community aspect. Finding queer-safe spaces, where we can share interests and socialise, both in and out of the art of drag, is so important to stay connected. Recruiting members, whether first time ever hearing of drag, or seasoned queens, is a guaranteed to come with a well organised event/publicised social media.
Being from a small town where all things LGBTQ are relatively hidden, being part of this community is something I’m really looking forward to! I would love to collaborate with everyone, all roles, artists, or just fans of drag, whatever position that may be.
