Biopharmaceutical Society: Treasurer

I am standing for treasurer because I am a firm believer in the vitality of financial management, both effectively and transparently. As treasurer, I would ensure I uphold all my responsibilities well ahead of the deadline, such as assessing financial feasibility and attending to any admin documentation. I am well equipped with the financial skills for this position as well as the organisation skills required due to my experience of being the financial director of a charity business started prior to joining UCL. Therefore, I am used to working closely with other members of the committee to make informed decisions of sustainable cashflow to allow the optimum quality of events to operate whilst providing feedback for future expenditure to improve every member's experience in this society. I will also aim to maintain financial record accurately, a task that is easily accomplished as an individual who loves spreadsheets, and I intent to make it accessible for all members to allow full transparency and welcome suggestions from all members. I have a full understanding of the importance and responsibilities that this role entails, and I am willing to put in my full effort and interest to help this society prosper. 

Hi! I’m Katie and I’m a 2nd year Natural Sciences student and I am hoping to become the treasurer of the Biopharmaceutical Society this year. I believe that with my passion for the intersectionality between biomedical sciences and synthetic organic chemistry, I would be an excellent fit for this role.  

The opportunities presented by this society are so incredibly valuable, it would be an honour to be involved in their organisation. Given this opportunity, I would strive to support the growth and development of the society through effective budgeting and organisation.
