I am standing because I would like to become the president of BBI for this following academic school year. I believe that I would be a good president of BBI because of the good leadership skills and roles that I have and previous experience that I have serving on committees. My organization skills stem from having worked for the past two summers for the U.S. House of Representatives in constituent services which have required me to think and act fast towards certain issues and cases, especially with deportation or expired visas.
Another skill that I have is being a good role model and someone that people can come to and trust which is seen by me being Miss London 2023/2024. By being a public figure, I have learnt to be extra-conscious of my actions and the way that people perceive me.
As for committees, I am currently and academic student rep for the Anthropology department at UCL, as well as student rep for neurodivergencies and disabilities in the EDI committee also within the Anthropology department too.
If I were to be president, I foster a safe and healthy environment where everyone can feel free to voice their concerns about the club as well as take constructive criticism and implement it into improving the club. As president, I would make sure the research journals are in tract towards being published as well as provide as much events as possible.
