I'm Alex, I'm running to be the 93% Club's Secretary.

Since getting involved in the 93% Club I was encouraged to apply for Elevate- The 93% Club's Civil Service Insight Scheme powered by the Home Office- which I wouldn't have known about without the help of the society's committee, and thanks to them my application was successful.

I think that this is a great example of what the 93% Club can do to help other students from state schools and I'd like to be able to do more from the position of the society's Secretary.

Therefore, I'd like to become more involved with the society's committee and activities to be able to help with the ideas and aims set out for the year.

I have good relationships with all of the current committee members and I'll help them in any way that I can through my role.

I'm organised and methodical which I think will help with the admin parts of my position as Secretary. I have previous experience working in the events industry, in operations and logistics for a 40,000 capacity festival, which would help me with society admin and to organise events alongside the rest of the committee.

I look forward to working with the rest of the committee and seeing what the 93% Club can achieve.

As a proud state schooler from Newcastle, it would be great to get more involved in the society! I recently joined UCL to do my masters, but during my undergrad degree at York I gained experience in keeping club records and liaising with other committee members in my role as president of York Marrow society. I think that social mobility is super important, and I would enjoy helping to level up the playing field for state educated students as well as bringing together likeminded people at UCL!
