Hi everyone!!
Telugu Soc might be small right now, but there's so much potential here. There are way more Telugu students at UCL than we realize, we just need to give them a reason to get involved (and not just another WhatsApp group that gets muted immediately).
I genuinely love our community and can see what we could become. We've got amazing people, incredible culture, and stories worth sharing. I want to create events that bring us all together and attract new members too.
As Sponsorship Officer, I believe I can make a real difference. I've got the experience, the persistence, and those aunty-level networking skills that could probably solve world peace if applied correctly. If I can make small talk with distant relatives I haven't seen in 10 years, I can definitely charm corporate sponsors into funding us. Whether it's cultural celebrations, socials or workshops, I want us to have a budget that covers more than just Parle-G biscuits (though let's be honest, they'll always have a place in our hearts).
My goal is to bring in sponsors for events people actually get excited about: proper Sankranti and Ugadi celebrations, cosy film nights, collaborations with other societies, and spaces where everyone feels welcome. I'm ready to do whatever it takes (yes, even those awkward cold emails where I pretend to sound professional).
If you want someone who'll work hard, bring in real sponsorships and hopefully secure enough food so no one leaves hungry, I'd really appreciate your vote!
