Hi everyone, I'm Eli and I'd love to be one of your Social Secs this year.
Great social events can maintain the healthy session turnout we've had so far, keeping Swim Soc lively and more than just a booked pool.
To do this I will prioritise you and your feedback, so that we can have activities that suit everyone and let you get the most out of your membership. Club socials should be whatever we want to make them and so I will always be open to any new suggestions.
One idea I would like to see is more collaborative events with other societies so that we have the opportunity to get to know more people and have a greater variety of events.
It's been brilliant meeting everyone so far this year. Despite not having a Social Sec right now, the club has felt really welcoming and friendly. I think that with such a good group of people, we have the opportunity to have really amazing social events.
Thanks :)
I would like to be a social secretary for UCL's swimming club to help create a better community within the club by helping to organise social events. These could include regular events such as pub nights, quizzes or games nights or more special events such as the charity swimathon or swimming galas. Organising these regular events will help members of the club get to know each other better since often at swimming we dont get the chance to chat much! I also think it would be fun to organise something like a christmas party before the term ends to bring the whole swimming club community together :)
Hiii, I'm Margherita!
Hey, I’m James, I love swimming - not as much as a love the beers after on Thursday nights. I’m on exchange from Australia and keen to get involved, organise some cool events, and make sure everyone’s having the best time.
I’m running for Social Secretary because I genuinely enjoy bringing people together. Back in high school, I was an executive member of the Athletic Council, where I helped plan and run most of our school’s events, and I also captained my swim team, organising socials and team gatherings that strengthened our sense of community.
At UCL, I’d love to bring that same energy to our swimming club, making sure everyone, from freshers to postgrads, feels included and has a great time both in and out of the pool. As a fresher this year, I’ve loved meeting everyone through the socials we’ve had, and I want to build on that atmosphere with even more creative events and opportunities to connect.
