When I first joined Snowsports, I didn’t expect to be the only person who had never skied before - yet from my first training session, I felt completely at home. Everyone was so welcoming, whether it was at training and I was falling out of control down the dry slope or being warned about what happens if someone puts a shoe on their head at socials. That sense of community is what’s made Snowsports stand out to me, and it’s exactly why I want to give back as Vice President of Welfare & Relations.

In this role, I’d make it my priority to keep that same welcoming, inclusive atmosphere going strong — whether that’s through organising non-drinking socials, making sure everyone feels supported on nights out, or just being someone people can talk to. I’ve had plenty of experience coordinating teams and events, securing sponsorships and bringing ideas to life - and I’d love to use that to help the society grow even more.

I’m especially excited about the relations side - helping design new merch and reaching out to potential sponsors. I want to make sure members have a real say in what they want to see, from hoodie designs to brand collabs and that the final result represents the society’s personality both on and off the slopes.

Ultimately, I want to help keep UCL Snowsports the fun, supportive, and slightly chaotic family it already is - but with even better merch and more people feeling part of it so Vote for Eddie!

Having been part of Snowsports for over a year, I’ve seen how much work the committee puts in to keep the club running smoothly.
Without a Vice President this year, the committee has faced even more pressure. As I run for the position, I want to help with any events or tasks that the rest of the year holds. I’ve been involved in both freestyle and ski racing, so I understand what’s happening on both sides of the society. I’ll work to make sure everyone is happy and that the society continues improving in the right direction.

Although my Kings 1 performance wasn’t exactly one for the history books, I’ve already spent a lot of time within the society, often taking on aspects of the Welfare Secretary role. Our current ski captain definitely had a few nights last year that ended with him thinking he could nap just about anywhere — and I was the one making sure he got back safely! Using the skills I gained from those experiences, I’ll make sure everyone can enjoy nights out and still get home safely.

Welfare isn’t just about nights out, though — people would always be welcome to talk to me about anything.
