Anjika Nayak

I want to be more involved in the Physics community beyond lectures and classes. I’ve really enjoyed meeting people across the course, and I’d like to help first-years feel more connected by increasing engagement in both academic and social activities. I also hope to contribute ideas that make the society more approachable and inclusive for everyone. Since I already work closely with students as the Academic Rep, I think I can bridge communication between the society and the cohort effectively.

Ali Imam

Why Me?

As President of my high school's Student Council, I led a student body of 1200+ students across 14 different events. I founded its first ever Science Bowl and engaged students across multiples of science. My commitment to my school and peers was recognized when I was honoured for being the only Cabinet member to serve two leadership positions simultaneously. Therefore, I intend to bring similar proven experience in leadership, communication and event organization to the Physics society.

My Plan:

As the First year representative, I aim to:

  • Better outreach and collaboration with Year 1 students through social and academic events
  • Serve as a bridge between the management and Year 1 students to voice their concerns and initiatives they propose
  • Creating a learning platform for first-year students where they can collaborate amongst each other regarding queries, and subsequently be guided from senior students

My Vision:

I have always believed that Physics isn’t a science that shall always be extremely niche. But rather be more fun and diverse as it's intended. With my experience in communication and event organization, I intend to further increase the outreach and “fun” of events organized. Therefore, by voting for me, you are voting for a culture that supports enhanced collaboration and a holistic academic and social experience.
