Sara Hanna Nessim

I am running to join the UCL Mental Health Society to help create an open, evidence-based, and compassionate space for students. Through my BASc degree with a major in Psychology and my ongoing MSc in Child Development, I have developed a strong interest in how social connection, emotional regulation, and resilience shape wellbeing, particularly during times of change such as university life.

Beyond academics, my internship at Overcome, a mental-health coaching organisation, has given me direct experience supporting individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, and low mood through CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing frameworks. This role has deepened my understanding of how empathy, structure, and accessibility make a lasting difference.

If elected, I aim to:
- Organise career and academic events connecting students with professionals in clinical, research, and wellbeing fields.
- Promote safe, peer-led discussions on postgraduate stress, self-doubt, and work–life balance.
- Bridge the gap between psychological research and practical wellbeing, helping students find support both academically and personally.
