Audrey Lee

Hi, I’m Audrey, and I’m standing for Mahjong Society Secretary for two simple reasons: I really love Mahjong, and, perhaps weirdly enough, I love doing administrative tasks, taking minutes, and anything organisation related!

Mahjong has always been special to me. Many of my fondest memories include playing with family and friends, and I’ve always loved it as a way to bond with others. Since joining UCL, I’ve further witnessed how Mahjong brings people together, and how fun, uniting, and freeing it can be (the perfect activity on a Friday evening!). I may not be the best player (or even close), but I truly love Mahjong - and that’s why I’d love to be secretary, so I can help the society continue their fantastic work, and hopefully brush up on my Mahjong skills along the way.

As secretary, I promise to be organised, dedicated, engaged, and efficient. My experience as Chief Rapporteur on the Secretariat of a Model Arctic Council conference (which is similar to MUN) has helped hone my organisation and communication skills (and also my typing skills!) - which will allow me to fulfil my responsibilities effectively.

In conclusion, it would be an honour to be Secretary for the Mahjong society, and to help the society run smoothly - so that we can all continue to have more fun together!

Adrian Lee

Hello everyone! I’m Adrian, and I’m standing for Secretary of Mahjong Society because this society is my home away from home. I’m eager to give back by ensuring it runs smoother than ever.

As your Secretary, I will be the reliable backbone, handling logistics and administration so you can focus on playing and connecting. My plan is direct:

· Bigger Venues & Longer Sessions: I will secure larger spaces at more convenient locations and extend our meeting times so no one is left out and the games never feel rushed. I will also make sure that activity information will be disseminated effectively to every member well in advance.

· More Fun & Collaboration: I will actively organise collaborations with other societies both within and outside UCL and diversify our events with themed socials and open tournaments. Hopefully, we will have a more diverse and inclusive player base, allowing us to meet more new friends!

· Significantly More Free Food & Drinks: I will make it a non-negotiable priority to provide more free refreshments, because great games deserve great fuel, and that goes for everyone. I will also endeavour to bring back the hot pot socials which received critical acclaim in previous years.

A vote for me is a vote for a seamless, well-fed, and vibrant Mahjong Society. Let's build it together and I look forward to interacting with each and every one of you! Thank you very much!

(Also serving as a current Student Representative at UCL)

Aidan Ho

Hopefully to many of you at Mahjong Society, I have been a familiar face around the sessions, either checking tickets at the door, teaching the game to newcomers or helping with cleanup. Being involved has been the highlight of my time at university, and after two years at the committee, I would love to tackle more responsibility as Secretary to grow our society even more.

I promise to upkeep and improve the communication and organisation within our society so information about our events and socials can reach everyone as fast as possible,  as I have seen how this can positively impact everyone if done well.  With my help, we would spend less time on logistics and more time playing mahjong.

If I become Secretary, I will make sure all members’ voices are heard; whether it’s feedback on events, suggestions for improvements, or new ideas. I’ll always make time and be easy to reach for everyone who wants to share their experiences, ask questions and raise concerns.

Thank you so much for spending the time to read this, and I hope I will be able to help protect the welcoming and fun environment that made me enjoy my time here!
