Mahjong Society: Engagement Officer

I hope to share my passion for Mahjong with the society and contribute by planning initiatives that engage all members. Through meaningful activities, such as the Mahjong Quiz Initiative I am currently executing, I hope to engage active mahjong players as well as those who are completely new to the game, and be your communication channel to improve your mahjong experience. Whether you play Hong Kong Mahjong, Riichi Mahjong or any other variants of Mahjong, all initiatives will be friendly and relevant to all!

As an Engagement Officer, I will ensure a welcoming experience for everyone through offering many feedback channels to ensure your voice is heard. Whether you are completely new to the game of mahjong, wish to learn other mahjong variants, or just want to learn how to improve your skills, I will always be approachable and will ensure my best that you can get the mahjong experience you desire!

Hello everyone! I'm Adrian, and I'm running to be your next Engagement Officer. For me, Mahjong is more than a game—it's about the people around the table. My goal is to ensure that every member, from beginner to expert, feels welcomed, connected, and excited to be part of our community.

As Engagement Officer, I will be the friendly face dedicated to effective communication and making our society more vibrant. My plan is clear:

1. Welcome & Integration: I will establish a dedicated "Buddy System" for novice members and host beginner-friendly tables, ensuring everyone feels confident and makes new friends from their first game.

2. Dynamic & Diverse Events: I will bring back legendary events like the hot pot nights and launch new themed socials and open tournaments. I'll also forge collaborations with other UCL/external societies to diversify our community and create unforgettable experiences.

3. Unambiguous Community Fuel—Free Food & Drinks: I will make it my personal mission to provide significantly more free food and drinks. Great games are built on great company, and that company deserves to be well-fed!

4. Bigger Venues & Longer Sessions—Greater Fun for All

My experience as a serving Student Representative has equipped me with the skills to listen to your ideas and turn them into reality. A vote for me is a vote for a more connected and inclusive Mahjong Society.
