International Relations Society: First Year Rep

Hi everyone! I’m Corinna, a first-year BASc Arts and Sciences student, and I’d like to nominate myself for the role of First-Year Representative.

As your representative, I’d aim to ensure that every first-year student feels supported, included, and inspired to get involved in the International Relations Club. I want to create an engaging environment where new members can confidently explore their interests in global affairs. I’d actively seek feedback from first-years to understand their needs and work with the committee to organise socials, career events, and internship opportunities that truly reflect our community’s interests.

As Co-Leader of my school’s Global Issues Network (G.I.N.) Club, I planned and hosted events with students, parents, staff, and guest speakers, including SWAP-PARTYs promoting circular fashion, workshops on resource conservation, panel discussions on gender-based violence, and debates on political issues—all designed to encourage participation and open dialogue. These experiences strengthened my organisational, communication, and teamwork skills, which I'm eager to bring to the role and to the committee.

I’m excited to represent our year group and help make the International Relations Club an active, welcoming, and inspiring space for all first-years!
