Isabel Ratsepp

Hi everyone!! I'm Isabel – a 3rd year politics student :)

I’m really excited to run for the position of captain of the social team. Sport has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started competitive figure skating when I was four years old, and later moved into dance, both of which taught me the importance of discipline, and how much consistency and support from the people around you matter in achieving results. At UCL, I’ve been part of the competitive cheerleading team, which taught me that a good team is more than just about performance – it’s about connection and shared experiences!
I’d love the opportunity to bring that same energy to the uclwfc social team, making it a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable, included, and encouraged, no matter their level of experience. As captain, I’d focus on creating a sense of community both on and off the pitch, and making sure training sessions are something everyone looks forward to each week.
I’m genuinely excited to get to know everyone better and help make the most out of the season!!

I am standing because although I am a first year and I am new to the social team, I think I would be a really good fit for this role as I have played football for around 6 years, I have been on two different teams (Northampton Town and Kingsthorpe), I've gained a lot of experience being on these teams and although I have never been a captain before I have ideas of activities and drills that could maybe be used in training and I will always be there for everyone to support them and help out if there are ever any problems or concerns!! As well as this, I would say I am a very positive and motivated person and that I always look forward to training and the socials each week. I honestly think football is for everyone and that it is the perfect place to make close friends, to build a community and to improve together :)
