Stephanie Solomons

I am eager to apply for the role of Film Soc Studio Manager as they have often been the beating heart of the society’s production side. Having gained hands-on experience on set in the Sydney indie film scene, I developed a strong understanding of the technical backbone of production — from camera operation and lighting setups to managing sound equipment, my various PA and AD roles meant that I was often handling and using professional film equipment. That experience has given me a practical awareness of how essential well-organised, well-maintained equipment is to any successful shoot, and I’m eager to use my experience to continue the legacy of the Film Soc Studio’s reliability and organisation.

I’ve also spent time working independently with the society’s studio resources, using its equipment and software to teach myself Adobe Premiere Pro and strengthen my post-production skills for instance. As a part-time MA Film Studies student, I have the flexibility to prioritise this role and dedicate consistent time to maintaining the studio space. I’m  ambitious and committed to pursuing a career in the film industry, and this position would be a fantastic opportunity to broaden my familiarity with a wider range of professional equipment while supporting fellow members in their creative projects. I am passionate about helping fellow production members experiment with their creativity in film form and familiarise themselves with our fantastic equipment!

Sadie Long

Hi everyone!

My name is Sadie Long, and I am running for Studio Manager because I am passionate about Film Soc, and I am confident that I can support its wonderful members with any equipment and technical concerns. Previous leadership and filmmaking experiences have prepared me for the role of Studio Manager: I ran my school's film festival two years in a row, the largest student run film festival in Los Angeles by High Schoolers, I have a background in photography, I produced the Term 2 Film in 2025 and I am currently producing the Term 1 Film. As such, I am very familiar with the studio space and all of the equipment, and I am prepared to assist with all equipment training, technical issues, and overseeing the organization of the studio. In High School, I ran bookings for student union events as a year 13 representative, and I am certain that I can effectively manage studio and equipment bookings.

Also, many society members are passionate about film, but they do not have the technical equipment knowledge to support their filmmaking, and as Studio Manager I would like to run mini workshops on equipment, lighting and sound so that members build confidence in these areas and can use this knowledge to apply for crew positions on Term Films. As SEIM, I promise to make the studio accessible and welcoming for all film society members. Over the past two years, I have grown to love film soc so much, and it would be an honor to serve on the committee this year!

Winter Mavi Toprak

After three years of university education and work opportunities, I ended up at UCL studying Media solely because of my passion for the Film Society. I have gained hands-on experience across various creative projects and environments, including directing short films, leading photography campaigns, and producing live shoots of musicals, while also managing my independent business.

Through working as a Studio Technician at Goldsmiths Studios and its Photography Society, I learned to balance creative vision with practical execution, coordinate crews, and run workshops. I would be thrilled to bring the same dedication to handling policies and safety measures that I am familiar with to keep everything present and functional.

Upon discussing the focus on storage and rentals with the current Studio, Equipment, and IT Manager, I observed a potential in professional labelling, tracking, and navigation systems for studio resources. To support improvement, I aim to create a communication portal where all members can book equipment, check availability, and contact the studio team whenever in need.

As a deaf creative, I understand how obstacles can hinder progress in spaces where accessibility is lacking. Therefore, with the correct organisation, I would like to ensure that everyone feels inclusive and confident in their abilities. Ultimately, I stand with a precise goal: shifting everyone’s priorities from seeking support to letting their story flow through their films, toward the world.

Rustam Mukhamedjanov

Hi everyone! Behind every great film is a team that makes creativity possible. People who ensure that lights work, cameras roll, and ideas come to life. That’s exactly why I’m standing for Studio, Equipment & IT Manager: I want to make sure our society has the tools, systems, and spaces it needs to turn imagination into impact.

As a Social Sciences and Data Science student, I’ve developed a systematic approach to problem-solving and resource management, which are skills that directly translate to efficient studio coordination and IT oversight. My experience as Head Boy taught me responsibility and organization under pressure, while my work as Head of Media for Model UN conferences strengthened my leadership, creative direction, and technical management skills. Moreover, I have led and edited a myriad of visual projects that demanded precision and technical adaptability.

If elected, I will:

  •  Build a transparent equipment booking and tracking system.
  • Run training workshops to help members master studio tools confidently.
  • Develop a digital resource hub for tutorials, troubleshooting, and production tips.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and reliability are handled proactively, not reactively.

I’m not just applying to manage equipment, but to empower creators, eliminate frustration, and make production smoother for everyone!

Vote Rustam for reliability and a smoother creative workflow!
