Marvin Chiu

I am Marvin Chiu, and I am putting myself forward for the role of Events Director. I wish to contribute to UCLe’s mission to inspire and catalyse the next generation of entrepreneurs, and I believe that transformative events are the catalyst that turns ambition into action. As an Events Director, the role demands a leader who can build bridges, shape visionary concepts, and ensure strong execution. My experience is a direct match for this responsibility:

During my Brex internship, my work involved analysing competitive landscapes, and my presentations were shared with GTM leaders to enhance my confident communication skills, which are vital to effectively steer outreach communications with VCs and founders.

As Student Council Director of Welfare in high school, I established connections and negotiated partnerships with key companies to illustrate the robust networking foundation and drive to diversify UCLe’s networking outside.

Captaining the HK U18 Baseball Squad has equipped me with the poise to manage high-stakes situations and the leadership to ensure a team operates smoothly under pressure: skills critical for delivering a top experience during pitch competitions and networking events.

I will work tirelessly to elevate every event, ensuring they are not just occasions but pivotal moments that inspire, connect, and propel our members forward. Vote for Marvin Chiu for Events Director. Let’s build the premier entrepreneurial event ecosystem at UCL, together.

Vedant Bhatt

I am deeply inspired by the UCL Entrepreneurs Society’s VC Fund and its mission to turn student business models into real ventures. I have always enjoyed giving back, whether through mentoring peers, volunteering or community based leadership, and I want to scale that mindset into something more structured and impactful. Working in venture capital is my long term goal because it aligns with my desire to support and uplift early stage innovators. Becoming Events Director would allow me to contribute meaningfully by designing experiences that empower others, while also conducting deep research and engaging with founders, investors and operators. I see the role not just as a chance to lead but as a hands on learning opportunity to understand how ideas grow into investable ventures. This position perfectly aligns with my curiosity, leadership drive and passion for building ecosystems that help others succeed.

Tanmaye Shagotra

Hi, I’m Tanmaye Shagotra, and I’m asking for your vote to be the next Events Director for the UCL Entrepreneur Society.

UCL is home to some of the boldest minds and brightest ideas. But great ideas don’t become great ventures without the right opportunities, connections, and environments to grow. As Events Director, I want to create spaces where anyone — whether you're pitching your first startup idea or just curious about innovation — feels empowered to participate, collaborate, and create. Before UCL, I led AI entrepreneurship initiatives in India, organizing startup demo days, speaker series, and product-building bootcamps for over 300 students. I’ve seen firsthand how a single conversation or event can spark someone’s entrepreneurial journey — and I want to bring that same spark to UCL.

Here’s what I’ll deliver:

  • Flagship, high-energy events: Curate TED-style founder talks, live product showcases, and “Start in a Day” challenges to energize our community.
  • Skill-first workshops: Host hands-on sessions on pitching, prototyping, fundraising, and branding with founders and VCs.
  • Inclusive pathways: Launch events specifically tailored to first-time founders and non-business students to democratize entrepreneurship.
  • Stronger networks: Build partnerships with other UCL societies and London-based incubators to expand your access to resources and mentorship.

Let’s make entrepreneurship at UCL not just inspiring — but actionable.
Adam Zhou

Hi, my name is Adam.

I’m standing for Events Director because I believe that all great ideas start small, and it’s through the right events that they grow. I have always loved bringing people together around something meaningful. Back in high school, I organised Model UN conferences, cinema outings, and picnics that connected students from different schools.

As the BSc Economics course representative and a long-time class rep (last year of middle school till end of high school), I have learnt to manage different schedules and balance expectations. During my internships, I worked in data-driven and fast-paced environments where precision and planning were key.

As Events Director, I want our Society to be a place where ideas meet people through startup simulation challenges, founder fireside chats, inter-university innovation nights, and hands-on workshops with real entrepreneurs. I’d also love to launch something like a “Build in a Weekend” event, where students team up to pitch and prototype an idea in 48 hours. With engaging, well-organised events like these, we can turn inspiration into action and make entrepreneurship real, accessible, and exciting for everyone.

Sarp Zulfikaroglu

I’m the kind of person who treats “organising chaos” as a core skill; part creativity, part crisis management, and a lot of caffeine. I’ve been on both sides of the startup scene: pitching ideas, joining competitions, and watching ambitious students try to come up with ideas to change the world (or at least win free pizza). As Events Director, I’d bring that same energy to create experiences that actually feel entrepreneurial: fast-paced, interactive, and unforgettable. Whether it’s a speaker event that sparks a new venture or a networking night that turns awkward introductions into collaborations, I’ll make sure every event leaves members thinking, “That’s exactly why I joined this society.”

I want UCL Entrepreneurs’ events to be the ones people actually talk about afterwards, not just attend for the LinkedIn post. From ideation nights to mini pitch battles and energy fueled hackathons, I’ll make sure our calendar isn’t just busy, but buzzing with the kind of energy that reminds everyone why UCL is one of the most entrepreneurial campuses in London.

Sharvesh Ram Nandakumar

The role of Events Head at the UCL Entrepreneurs' Society uniquely combines leadership, creativity, and operational capabilities in a direct contribution to developing the entrepreneurial culture at UCL. My interest in student engagement and entrepreneurship is the catalyst for this application. I want to organise fun, meaningful events for the society to help empower fellow students, to learn from startup founders, industry executives and investors, as well as create opportunities to expand their professional networks. Events offered by the UCL Entrepreneurs' Society are one of the few experiences students can obtain while engaging with new ideas and teams, thus aligned with my interests as well as the study of management at UCL. I have developed analytical, process-optimisation, and cross-functional co-ordination skills in both academic and extracurricular engagements while at UCL, which has provided me with the capability to effectively manage teams and complex projects. This will help to develop different programming, undertake logistical planning for each event and implementation with limited time constraints, as required.

Kaden Ross

You should vote for me for events director as I have the skills needed to excel in this role. This position requires a leader who takes initiative, whose good at organisation and time management, and most importantly whose good at communication and collaboration. Over the past few years, having not only captained sports team, but also co-led societies such as Sevenoaks entrepreneurs society and investment society, I learnt the leadership skills and grit that I need to take initiative and make the most of each event opportunity. Playing multiple sports including, football, basketball & tennis whilst balancing multiple service & society leadership commitments and the IB diploma program taught me more about being self aware, and improving personal time management. These skills will allow me to organise each event in such a way that it runs smoothly to maximise students experiences, learning and takeaways. Finally, I developed incredibly valuable communication and collaboration skills by being extroverted. From actively seeking conversations, connections and opportunities, I learnt how to be flexible in cooperation with others in order to maximise the chances of making valuable relations and making myself opportunities. Hence, I will use my communication and collaboration skills to help organise and plan events with people and companies that offer indispensable insights and connections! If you want to make the events this year the best they can be, Vote me for representative!

Devina Singh Luthra

I’m motivated by the power of connections and the impact that comes from bringing people together. Through my experience in partnerships and events across early-stage startup work, I’ve learned how valuable the right network can be, especially when building something new.

As Events Director, I’d like to help shape UCL Entrepreneurs into the hub where founders, builders, creators, and curious minds connect — a space that feels open, collaborative, and genuinely supportive. I plan to strengthen our network by developing thoughtful partnerships with emerging startups, hosting cross-society gatherings, and creating more opportunities for meaningful conversations and shared learning.

My aim is to build a community where members feel confident exploring ideas, meeting others on similar journeys, and finding the people who will support their growth. Together, we can create a steady, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and connection.

Rustam Mukhamedjanov

I have recently been thinking about how every great idea starts with a spark, but it takes collaboration and action to turn that spark into success. I’m Rustam, and I’m running for Events Director of the Entrepreneurs Society because I believe our community deserves events that truly ignite creativity, inspire confidence, and connect opportunity with ambition.

As a former Head Boy, organizer of Model UN conferences, leader of media crews, I have managed a lot of teams and learned how to turn ambitious visions into practical results. I’ve also worked on creative initiatives like founding my school magazine and coordinating a big team, that required balancing innovation with organization, and it is a skill essential for planning events that are both inspiring and flawlessly executed.

If elected, I will bring fresh, high-impact ideas to the Society. Immediate ideas are startup simulation challenges, “Pitch Nights” with real entrepreneurs and networking events that connect students with investors and alumni founders. I’ll ensure every event adds real strong value, which will give members skills, contacts, and confidence to grow as future leaders.

Vote for me if you want an Events Director who doesn’t just plan, but creates experiences that spark innovation and drive success.

Let’s build a Society where every event inspires the future entrepreneur in you!
