I genuinely love the moment when a half-baked idea turns into something real and I want to help more students experience that rush. I’ve seen how much potential hides in random dorm room conversations (especially when its late at night), and as BSA Director, I’d make it my mission to turn those “what if” chats into startups that actually launch.

I believe that I bring both structure and creativity. I am a person who’ll design an accelerator schedule that’s organised, yet somehow still fun (yes, that’s possible). I want BSA to feel like a playground for ambitious minds: hands-on workshops, mentors who actually inspire, and demo days that feel less like PowerPoints and more like mini TED Talks. I’d bring the energy, commitment, and creativity needed to make the Academy the place where ideas don’t just sound good, they grow.

Amir Gulubayli

Hi!
I've started and failed lots of businesses since I was 16 before landing on my currently successful AI consultancy (ragx.org).
From services to physical/ecom/saas products, I have experience launching a range of projects in many different niches, as well as having learnt from a ton of mistakes that I can advise others to avoid. I have a tech background and combined with thorough experience in product design and lead gen, it allows me to see eye to eye with both non/tech founders which is great since it allows me to understand and support a wide range of ideas.

Moreover I love meeting other entrepreneurs and hearing their business ideas and philosophy as there is always something to learn! And on the flip-side, I'm always  keen to pitch exciting ideas to investors and rally support for a project I believe in.

"My alter ago" studying a maths degree also has experience working as a team lead and analyst within large organisations. Hence I have also developed key communicational and research skills which will inherently be useful in this role.

I look forward to help making an impact and supporting other entrepreneurs!
Kind Regards, A.G.

Shakeel Majeed

I’ve been Interim BSA Director since August, leading BSA to new heights with an incredible exec team. Together, we’ve built partnerships with the biggest names in London’s startup ecosystem (i.e. EWOR, Kickstart Global, Stanford ASES) to help BSA launch UCL’s first on-campus founder community. With our first workshop around the corner and 100+ applications to review, it’d mean the world if you voted me in to keep building on BSA’s momentum.

Rustam Mukhamedjanov

Hi everyone! I believe that startups aren’t just businesses, they are ideas with courage behind them. I’m standing for Bloomsbury Startup Academy Director because I want to transform this society into a launchpad where beginner entrepreneurs can take risks, learn fast, and build ventures that truly matter.

As a Social Science and Data Science student, I bring both analytical rigour and strategic thinking to the role. I recently won the DECA Championship in the Entrepreneurship category, which sharpened my skills in ideation, pitching, and turning creative concepts into tangible results. Beyond that, my experience as Head Boy, Organiser of Model United Nations, Founder & Editor-in-Chief of my school magazine has taught me how to lead teams and manage complex projects.

If elected, I will:

  • Launch a structured mentorship program, connecting students with successful alumni and industry professionals.
  • Organise hands-on startup challenges where members can pitch and test real business ideas.
  • Provide resources and workshops on funding, strategy, and digital marketing to equip members with practical skills.
  • Promote a culture where failure is a learning tool and collaboration is celebrated.

I’m not running just to direct, but most importantly to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs, helping everyone move from idea to impact with confidence and guidance.

Vote Rustam for unique vision and startup success made real!
