I’m standing to bring creativity, collaboration, and meaningful change to the Disaster Risk Reduction and Humanitarianism Society. My proposals aim to energise student engagement and foster cross-departmental connections. I’d introduce a Humanitarian Hackathon, where students use data science to tackle real-world challenges alongside NGOs. Ask a Grad Mentoring Scheme would pair First and Second Years with Third Years and Postgrads for academic and career guidance. To spotlight faculty expertise, I’d launch a Tutors: In Conversation With… podcast, encouraging dialogue and showcasing interdisciplinary work.
Monthly Rant at Your Rep sessions would offer a safe space for feedback, with anonymous drop-boxes to ensure every voice is heard. I’d also champion MAPS Mixers—inter-departmental socials to build community beyond the classroom. These initiatives reflect my belief that student-led ideas can drive lasting impact. I’ve already engaged with the Society and am eager to collaborate with departments to implement these schemes, bridge disciplines, and promote a culture of curiosity and inclusion across campus.
