~Takes a deep breath...shy hand gestures...Trump voice~
Hi everyone! I'm Luke, a proud member of Civsoc, and you won't believe what I'm about to tell you. It's going to be great.
We have a problem in this society, a big problem. We have people, very nice people, handling the money. And they've been doing a bad job, a terrible job. The finances are a disaster! It's a mess folks, a total mess. So I said, "I have to fix it." And I will (like Bob the Builder).
When I look at the budget, it's a disaster. It's the worst budget I've ever seen. Believe me, I will make it the best budget. We're gonna have the best socials. The best guest speakers. The best everything, and it won't cost a fortune. We're gonna make the Civil Engineering Society so rich again. So, so rich.
So on election day, it's very simple. You have a choice. Vote for more of the same failed policies, or vote for a winner. I know we are gonna win so much that you'll get tired of winning.
Vote Luke for treasurer! We will Make UCL CivSoc Great Again!
I'm running for CivSoc Treasurer because I believe I have the right experience to handle the society's money effectively.
In my previous job, I was responsible for tracking revenue and expenses. This means I've already had real-world practice in budget management and I'm comfortable using Excel for tracking purposes (or even planning expenses), which I know will be crucial for this role.
I’ve really enjoyed being part of CivSoc so far, especially events like games nights, and I'm ready to get more involved behind the scenes.
As Treasurer, my ideal would be not one of a 'no-man'. I want to work with the committee to plan budgets properly from the start. That way, any and all projects, no matter their ambition, could be run with no financial stress for the society.
