I’m interested in this role because I love academic competitions, which I haven’t had the chance to be involved in recently. During my high school years, I won a medal in my home country’s National Mathematical Olympiad, and represented my country in the International Mathematical Olympiad 2020. I hope to gain leadership skills when organising venues, deadlines and intra-UCL selection tests, teamwork skills when cooperating with my subcommittee and committee from other universities and organisation skills for the final stage of the Cup, when our team will face off against other universities.

Last year, I was involved as a subcommittee in organizing the Anatomy Cup, which is also another reason for why I am interested. I took part in validating the exam used for the intra-UCL selection test, as well as executing said test, by organising and invigilating the students during the exam. I also helped in preparing the questions and answers that were submitted by UCL to the final stage of the Anatomy Cup, which were then used by the examiners at KCL. Lastly, I travelled to KCL with the team on the day of the exam, where we communicated with the KCL anatomy committee and supported our team.

I  would prefer to recruit more students who are interested in competing by way of earlier and extensive promotion. I believe that some “prestige” could be built around the competition and that by selecting our UCL team, we can do a better job at preparing them by holding  “mocks” or tutorials.

Because I know for a fact that we're better than KCL??? Who is St. George's? What is a QMUL? I stand for healthy, engaging competition 😍😍🥰🥰 and making sure that you have fun!! With my prior experience as an academic rep., I can help liaise with faculty, other students... ok cut the PR talk:

  • We've probably wasted so much time on Anki, so I want to help you translate that to more than a grade... because if I see another one of those MCQs again sdjshdsjfksdj but a certificate... (CV / LinkedIn warriors hear me out)
  • I've experienced Dr. Laura Porro (AHHHH she's so fab) - no no, like I don't mean lectures, I had to go around begging for a  bone dissertation supervisor... and let me tell you, the anatomical encyclopaedia that this woman is... (down the concentration gradient of knowledge [her = high, me = low]) I hope you can sense that through my energy too 😁😁
  • I've got told off enough for misspelling 'iliopsoas' (sp? double check pls) - I'm trained to scan for mistakes (by circumstance) even at 4am with caffeinated-induced consciousness, I'm detail-oriented, and I'll get things sorted out
  • SNACKS SNACKS SNACKS - there can't be any meeting / team-events / competitions without food (happy hippocampus!!), and I can bring organisation and execution beyond just that

I hope to share my coordination and vision, and I wish that with our already well-versed anatomy community here, we can put our minds together and watch the others BURN succeed as a team. See y'all on the battleground! 🫡
