What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want Amnesty to run like a welcoming, well-oiled rights hub. That means a reliable weekly rhythm of accessible meetings and short “action nights” (letters, petitions, skill-shares) plus quick, coordinated responses to urgent actions without burning people out. I’ll keep a living calendar, publish plain-English minutes and next steps within 48 hours, and make roles clear so newcomers can plug in fast. I’ll prioritise safeguarding and low-cost, alcohol-optional events, build partnerships across SU societies and UCL Volunteering, and fundraise sustainably so campaigns are consistent, not one-offs.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Years of frontline volunteering and society leadership, including founding and co-running a trauma-informed mental-health camp where safeguarding, consent and de-escalation are daily practice. Experience in a women’s shelter and with displaced people in Calais, which taught me dignity, boundaries and cultural humility. I’ve delivered large events end-to-end (planning, budgets, accessibility, comms), chaired rooms as Head Boy on a Board of Governors, and handled fast-paced hospitality shifts, so I’m organised, calm under pressure and people-first. I write clear minutes, follow through on actions, and keep information confidential.
