Election post
Hi! I’m Sophie Chee, a second year student taking Politics and International Relations. I’ve always been proud to be part of this society which not only allowed me to join conferences where I’ve gained so much valuable experience in debating and speaking, but also created amazing friendships with other delegates and staff in the London circuit. I have been to many training sessions and have been part of many conferences and events. I also have both delegate experience and chairing experience, having chaired both beginner and advanced committees from WHA to UNSC, so I understand the varied worries or queries that society members may have. MUN can be a daunting activity, no matter for first timers or the most experienced. Therefore, as the Welfare Officer, I will:
-
Ensure that others in the society can learn a lot from our events and training, make valuable connections and great memories
-
Be the first point of contact for any queries, issues or worries for all members within the society, which can be on multiple social media platforms
-
Communicate with different society members and provide advice for any issues or questions
Moreover, I’m good at scheduling events and handling admin, so I can arrange support and extra training sessions if needed, which can help members improve especially if they are less confident with speaking in normal sessions. I will strive to enforce and increase the welfare and support given to all members in the society.
