Election post
Hello :) My name is Hannah. I have worked in a variety of shows both externals and in Bloomsbury theatre. My focus is in Sound, Set and Stage management.
I joined Stage Crew during a time when I was struggling with my mental health. Members of the society were very welcoming and introduced me to the world of theatre. I am very proud to be a member of Stage Crew and want to be a part of continuing the community of this society; socials can be a very good way of do this. Whether through Bloomsbury Theatre productions, External shows, training or more, Stage Crew can be an excellent way for students to build meaningful relationships. However, I know it can be very hard to find time to socialise when working on shows.
Therefore, if elected I would prioritise
- Small socials organised in collaborations with the Company Stage Manager (for Blooms) and the Externals officer to celebrate the end of production week/ shows.
- Wider Society socials: Putting on bigger social gathering/ trips and events tailored to what people in the society are wanting to do. This could be picnics, theatre trips, pub quizzes, and more.
- Accessibility – I aim to support those who may struggle to access the theatre due to disability, experience, confidence, etc. As part of my role, I would collaborate with other committee members to organise workshops around theatre skills and discussions of what theatre is or can be.
