Snowsports Club: Fresher Rep

I’d be well chuffed to be the Freshers’ Rep for the Ski Society as I’m genuinely excited about skiing and would love to be able to create a welcoming environment for people who may have never tried the sport before. I know firsthand how important it is to feel part of a community, especially when starting something new, and I’d love to help freshers feel right at home in the society right off the bat.

I'd like to think that I'm quite a friendly, approachable person who’s always up for a chat, whether it’s about skiing, planning socials, or just general chin wagging. With some past experience in event planning, I’d love to have the opportunity to jump in and help make all of our ski society events as fun and memorable as possible, be ready for some crazy themes, you won't be disappointed. I think it’s super important that everyone, whether they're seasoned skiers or total beginners, feels included and excited to get involved just like how the committee made me feel during freshers week and I aim to really carry on the sense of community that's already so clear to see. 

I’m ready to go all-in promoting the UCL Ski Society, getting onto the infamous tiktok if im given the honor and helping the society grow with the help of all my first years so we can stay the number one sports society at UCL. With energy, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of beer, this year’s ski season will be unforgettable for all of those that are involved and i aim to get that number as large as possible.

• To give freshers a say in future Snowsports socials 
• Get freshers more involved in regional competitions like KINGS which has been the highlight of my time with Snowsports so far
• Keep the social energy high and consistent throughout the year 
• Promote the Snowsports community as it has been an integral part of my settling into UCL socially and want others to have the same experience
• Organise events specifically for freshers to get to know one another ahead of the Ski Trip in December if conditions and time permit

Skiing is my one true passion, and if i can assist people in their ski journey in any way, it would be my honour to do so. Furthermore, i really like the idea of representing my university in the thing i love the most. I also really want to enter the ucl skiing community in an official sense and want to help manage the workload as i know it must be intense considering the size of the society. I would also like to work my way up the position ladder as i would love to open my own freeride category (which is unfortunately not a thing yet) and become its captain next year. Overall I want to express my love for skiing not only in the slopes, and engage as many people into the sport as i can through the large medium that is the ucl snowsports society.
