Growing up in India, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, France, and Korea has exposed me to the contradiction of how global disparities in health outcomes persist despite advances in medical technology. For this reason, I am standing as the Technology Officer. I am eager to collaborate with fellow future engineers, doctors, and entrepreneurs who share my vision for transforming healthcare accessibility by reshaping how we prevent, detect, and treat medical conditions.

As a biomedical engineering student, I hope to share my passion for technology to further improve Medtech's agenda. In addition to coding workshops, I plan to introduce sessions focused on machine learning in healthcare. As the Technology Officer, I see the immense potential of AI to bridge gaps in healthcare access and deliver smarter, more efficient solutions for all, and I hope to share this vision within the society. By organizing hands-on opportunities focused on AI applications in healthcare, we can explore how these technologies are transforming medical practices.

As a firm believer in Medtech’s "desire to learn and engage" spirit, I’m excited to develop digital resources with podcasts, audiobooks, documentaries, and articles on the latest technologies to inspire us all to dream big. I’d also encourage everyone to share their insights and discoveries, so we can grow together.

As your future Technology Officer, I hope we can learn about today’s innovations and contribute together to the medical solutions of tomorrow.

Toni Disu

Hey everyone!

I'm Toni, a third-year Medical Innovation and Enterprise student, and I’m thrilled to be running for Technology Officer. My passion for MedTech runs deep, and over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of being the Technology in Healthcare Executive, where I got hands-on experience supporting the society.

Why am I a great fit for this role? Alongside my studies, I’ve gained valuable experience running a society as Vice-President of another UCL society, which taught me a lot about leadership, communication, and teamwork, skills I’m eager to bring to MedTech.

I’m particularly excited about the applications of AI and machine learning in healthcare, and I’m eager to bring this focus to the society. Over the past two years, MedTech has been an amazing space for my personal and intellectual growth, and I’m ready to dive even deeper. As Technology Officer, I’ll work hard to make sure tech-related events like the gadget fair, run smoothly and that we continue to create more opportunities for hands-on learning and exploration of the MedTech space.

I believe my background and enthusiasm for digital health and AI make me well-suited to this role. I’m committed to bringing my experience, dedication, and fresh ideas to support the society’s goals and to create a collaborative, inspiring environment.

Thank you for your support!
