As part of the MedTech Portal Team last year, I was involved in recording podcasts and writing articles or newsletters. Hence, I am familiar with the behind-the-scenes work for media publishing, from content planning and scheduling, to designing and formatting. I am also eager to apply this experience to continue producing newsletters, curating engaging content and managing the portal to keep members informed and connected, while also enhancing the website's overall reach and impact.
Hello everyone! I'm Ashley, a 2nd year Biomedical Engineering student. I'm very excited for this chance to be your Portal Media Officer this year - I would be helping out the portal team with our society's podcasts and articles. I have a background in public speaking and love learning about random advancements in medical technology, so I'm looking forward to expanding our article and podcast library. Some ideas I have include expanding the podcast to feature more students in addition to our guest speakers, and opening up opportunities for members to contribute questions for upcoming speakers. I would also encourage collaborative writing, as submitting a whole article alone can be quite daunting! Working together would not only make the content even better, but also help foster stronger community connections. Some resources or workshops could also be held to give a confidence boost for those who are looking for guidance with writing.
I believe I can help make our MedTech Portal a dynamic space for collaboration, creativity and knowledge. Looking forward to being a part of the committee and working with all of you!
