Through years of performing in multiple bands, I have developed a solid understanding of what it takes to organise successful gigs. I’ve experienced firsthand the logistics required—such as assembling the band, organising rehearsal spaces and music, arranging travel, and coordinating attire. I plan to use this knowledge to build the Jazz Society’s reputation as the top choice for external events, like awards ceremonies and community engagements.

Since graduating, I’ve also gained two years of professional project management experience, where I gained skills in stakeholder engagement, timeline management, logistical planning, and proactive problem-solving all of which will allow me to deliver high-quality service for the society. This experience, combined with my gigging background, positions me well to work effectively with venues, society members, and external stakeholders to produce exceptional gigs on behalf of the Jazz Society.

Although I’ve been a member of Jazz Society for only a short period, the society's welcoming nature has inspired me. The supportive environment has motivated me to take on an active role in the committee, contributing to the society's ongoing success and ensuring future members benefit from the same positive experiences I’ve enjoyed.

As a member of Jazz Society, I love seeing jazz performed live. In the society, there is an absurd amount of very talented musicians, all of which deserve a chance not only to play to UCL audiences, but also to audiences of the general public.

In my previous years at UCL, I have helped organize external, as well as internal events for a number of music-related societies, namely Rare FM and EMS. This year, I am part of a team which looks for artists to play at the events of ERA Journal, and the venues in which these will take place. So, I have some experience in finding venues that are looking to book bands from universities, and I will be able to to use this to help me find external opportunities for the musicians of the society.

If I am elected, I want to significantly expand the scope of the venues that Jazz Society musicians play in. I believe that jazz is in high demand in London, and if done right, the musicians in the society can have a lot of opportunities to play in a variety of venues, including those which are not usually known for Jazz.
