Institute of the Americas Society: Postgraduate Representative

I would like to become a Postgraduate Representative in order to represent the fellow PG students in the Institute of the Americas. The experiences we have at the University are different than those studying at UG level, and our voices deserve to be heard. I hope that my role will contribute towards the enjoyable and comfortable experience of those in my cohort.
I am the current Course Rep for Part-Time Masters students and I think that the two roles can be successfully combined. I look forward to making our academic and social time at UCL the best it can be!

As a committed and passionate member of the Institute, I understand the challenges and opportunities that come with being a postgraduate student at UCL. I believe in advocating for engagement in the Institute both with each other and with the ability to raise concerns to the faculty and staff as well. I believe that we have a great Institute, but there is always room to improve. I would work to be accessible for concerns, to support you, and to include anyone involved in the Institute to be able to bring those concerns to me.
I would also add that I am uniquely qualified as an international and as a mature student to help bring those positions to the forefront as well. Another thing I would like to see is postgraduation support, to help us be better prepared for post-academia, be that networking, open houses or the like.
