Oorvi Dabke

Hi everyone! I’m Oorvi, and I’d be honoured to serve as your Vice President.

Being part of Hindu Society was one of the absolute highlights of my first year – from Garba and Diwali Ball to performing in Rangeela and Bhajan Night, these events brought together incredible people and allowed me to connect with my heritage in a vibrant way. As Treasurer of the Women in Finance Society, I’ve developed solid experience in managing responsibilities, balancing priorities and leading a team. I’m ready to bring this experience to the Hindu Soc committee to help create incredible and unforgettable events! I’d especially love the chance to work on Rangeela’s behind-the-scenes organisation. Having performed in the Music act last year, I know how essential a strong Audio Visual team is to making every act shine, so I’d be committed to ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

Thank you for considering me – it would really mean a lot to be able to give back to Hindu Society and help create moments that make each year so memorable!

Breezy Patel

Hi!
I’m Breezy, and I’m excited to run for Vice President of UCL Hindu Society. As someone who values tradition and culture, I am deeply committed to making our society a dynamic and homely community.
I am unafraid to voice ideas that drive positive change, while ensuring everyone’s opinions are respected. My confidence allows me to represent our society effectively, both within UCL and in larger networks.
Having previously led my school badminton team through competitive tournaments, I understand what it takes to bring people together, motivate them, and create a unified, successful team. My leadership skills will be invaluable for organizing large-scale events, as well as weekly discussions and sports competitions. I am also looking forward to lead the society’s badminton team to victory at this year’s zonals.
Alongside sports competitions, I’d love to introduce wellness initiatives, such as mindfulness and yoga workshops or outdoor activities, e.g. hiking, that allow us to connect while promoting well-being.
My connections with committee members from other universities, along with my familiarity with NHSF UK, position me well to foster valuable collaborations and host engaging inter-university events. I know most of the current committee members and therefore believe I can work well with and support all the different departments.
As VP, I will bring dedication, energy, and a vision for inclusivity that I believe can elevate our society.
Thank you for your support.

Vibha Shetty

Hindu Society has always been a welcoming and positive atmosphere for me, especially during my first year in uni; I was new to the city and amazed to find a community who shared the same values and ideals I had.

I would love to take on the role of Vice President and contribute to this ever-growing society. Successfully balancing and enjoying dance, teaching and studies, has enstilled a sense of discipline and improved my efficiency. Further refining these skills by competing with JB last year has taught me how to balance my time and be devoted to all my commitments; an ethos which I hope to bring to this role.

In 6th form, being head of Mental Fitness Ambassadors greatly improved my communication skills, which equips me to support the members of our committee. During this year I have been tutoring and have previously been a teacher through my dance school, both of which has taught me patience, how to be approachable and encouraging and how to think quickly and adapt to challenging situations. I am a focused and confident individual which will be useful in liaising with external teams during Rangeela and within the committee. Currently, I am part of the Women in Surgery Committee which has taught me more on how to deal with the financial aspect of the society and executing plans for the team. I am ready to help the society execute all of their plans to the best of my ability.

Damini Apte

Namaste! I’m Damini, and I am running for Vice President of the UCL Hindu Society.

In school, I established a Hindu Society, strengthening my leadership skills and teaching me the dedication it takes to serve on a committee. I’ve organised a range of events, from debates to cultural talks, and I understand the attention to detail needed to make each event meaningful.

I’d love to support UCL Hindu Society’s regular activities and collaborate with the committee to keep it a fun and welcoming space for everyone.  I’m also excited to help expand our connections through NHSF to benefit our community and grow our network.

Thank you for considering me, and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute as your Vice President!
