As a new member of the club, the idea of friendly competitions at low stakes is very appealing to me, and I want to ensure that everyone has access to it, and it runs smoothly. I have substantial experience in organisation and management, being a Senior Non-Commissioned officer in the cadet forces for over 3,5 years, as well as being the chair of the Merton Youth Parliament for over 2 years. I believe that I have enough experience and passion to succeed in this role and improve the experience of being part of the club for all of our members, providing access to competitions for those not playing in the league.
Hi, I'm Zita, a female foilist on the UCL team. As a 3rd-year medical student from Hong Kong, I'm currently intercalating and pursuing an MSc in Advanced Neuroimaging at UCL.
My fencing journey began at the age of 5, and although I took a hiatus after my U14 season, I've recently rekindled my passion for the sport. The welcoming atmosphere of our Saturday sessions and the thrill of UCL matches are undoubtedly highlights in my renewed enthusiasm for fencing.
Since returning to fencing, I've immersed myself in our community's diverse perspectives, gaining insights into the aspirations of both novice and experienced fencers. This experience has ignited my passion for hosting inclusive friendly matches. I aspire to create an environment where fencers can engage in spirited bouts, refining their techniques and applying them in competitive scenarios – fostering growth and excellence across all skill levels.
Drawing from my extensive experience organizing events of various scales across Hong Kong and participating in international student conferences, I'm confident in my ability to effectively coordinate with relevant parties and orchestrate seamless, enjoyable events for all participants.
As a dedicated member of the community, I aspire to contribute significantly to our team's growth. With your support, I'm eager to take on the role of friendly captain and lead our community towards new heights.
