My name is Hemanth Addala and I am a geology student whose passion for the environment and sustainability led me to join the energy society in hopes of working for the energy industry to help lead the global effort to decarbonise the world. Promoting sustainable energy solutions to the wider public is something that I feel strongly about and I am excited to have the opportunity to do so as a marketing officer at the energy society.
I believe I possess the required skill set for this role as my experience in completing A Level Art and Design honed my skills in creating effective designs which engage the audience. I hope I will be able to transfer these skills to the position of marketing officer in order to support the promotional and publication work of the society. As the marketing officer my aim would be to grow the society by building up our presence on campus and online in order to gain a wider audience with the ultimate goal of making the energy society the go-to society for any student curious about sustainable solutions to the climate crisis.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to consider my application and I am excited at the prospect of potentially joining the society to help it grow and flourish.
Having studied fine arts at A-levels, I believe that I am capable of creating eye-catching posters for both the account's Instagram and more formal publications. I believe an engaging design can help make energy society’s events and campaigns reach more students in the UCL community since they’ll stop and take the time to read on about them. Being a first-year BSc Geography student, I will also bring to this role a strong passion for sustainable energy and the role it plays in global policies. This means my background and interest aligns with the Energy Society's goals and I would love to have the opportunity to apply my skills in visual storytelling to raise awareness around the current news and initiatives in the renewables sector. I will focus on increasing the society’s visibility on campus to boost event attendance and member engagement. I will highlight the unique opportunities Energy Society offers to create more excitement towards upcoming publications. I believe this will in turn foster a stronger sense of community. I am dedicated to completing everything I do to the best of my ability due to my perfectionist nature. Therefore, I am excited to make a meaningful contribution to both the society and the wider UCL community through this position.
