I am standing for the position of Events Officer at UCL Connect.ed because of my strong foundation in event coordination and community engagement, cultivated through diverse roles across academic and extracurricular activities. As a mentor for the PPE Society, I have been involved in many events aimed at guiding students academically and fostering a supportive atmosphere through social gatherings. My involvement in debate competitions, has sharpened my ability to plan and execute structured activities, manage group dynamics, and lead collaborative efforts to achieve shared goals. These experiences have equipped me with the strategic thinking and organisational skills necessary to manage events that resonate with the student community.
In my role as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, I have further developed my event management expertise through organising and attending school visits and conducting interviews . This professional experience has reinforced my skills in logistics, communication, and ensuring that events run smoothly. Additionally, my experience fundraising , where I orchestrated campaigns and collaborated with team members to raise funds for causes such as Children in Need, has enhanced my ability to plan, market, and execute events that capture interest and drive participation. I am committed to bringing these skills and experiences to the Events Officer role, creating innovative and impactful events to strengthen the Connect.ed community.
