Hey everyone! I’m standing to be captain because this team has been so welcoming to me, and I really want the opportunity to give back and help create that same supportive environment for all of us. From day one, I’ve felt like part of something special, and I’m excited about the chance to contribute in a bigger way.

I want to make sure every single team member feels as supported and encouraged as I’ve felt. Whether it’s through small gestures or simply being there to cheer each other on, I want to create an atmosphere where we all feel valued and motivated.

I also believe that building a strong bond off the mat is just as important as our work on it. That’s why I’d love to organise some fun team activities (working around our evening trainings!) so we can connect more as friends and teammates, making this season one to remember.

I’m ready to take on the responsibility of keeping things organised, staying on top of communication, and making sure we all stay motivated and informed. I’m here to help the team succeed, and I’d love the chance to do that as your captain.

Elena Gélie Warrington-Schwabe

After attending the Allstar Cheer Camp last weekend, I felt inspired by the energy, skill, and spirit of everyone there! Seeing how cheerleading brings people together to push their limits, build confidence, and create amazing stunts and routines made me realise how much I want to contribute even more to our team. That experience strengthened my desire to stand as Spark Captain, with a commitment to help our team thrive and enjoy every moment along the way.

Cheer has become my passion, and being part of UCL Cheerleading has been a highlight of the start of my university year. I hope to bring a lot to the team by supporting our goals and organising team-building activities and fun get-togethers to help us grow closer as a cheer family. In addition to these team-building activities, I want to be a reliable point of contact for any support or wellbeing concerns. I care deeply about creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and encouraged, and I’m here to listen, offer support, and uplift anyone who needs it. My goal as Spark Captain would be to help us make lasting memories, stay motivated, and remind each other of what we’re capable of. Together, we can make this season truly special!

Outside of practice, I’m taking extra tumbling classes at Pineapple Studios to improve my skills and bring even more to our team. I’d love to share what I’m learning and maybe even plan a team outing to one of the classes so we can grow our skills and bond as a group! As Captain, I’d be excited to organise regular

Serena Kwon

Since joining UCL Lightning, I’ve been deeply inspired by all the amazing members that are full of energy and talent. Although I have only been a member of our club for two months, it’s had such a great impact on me. Stepping into a new sport was intimidating at first, but the welcoming and cheerful community of Lightning has made me feel at home, especially after attending several events such as the bracelet making and the lightening family social. This is one of the main reasons why I decided to run for Spark captain. The energetic environment of the community has really inspired me to be more engaged with my team and across other teams as well.

As an aspiring captain, I want to build on not only our techniques as cheerleaders, but also our team spirit. Firstly, I want everyone to feel a sense of connection to Spark, no matter your skill and background. To develop this sense of family within our team, I would like to propose a few social event ideas such as picnic day, group dinner events, group hiking, or even something more relaxing such as yoga sessions. I believe that these social events will help us grow closer as a team and build trust that will translate into our performances.

Secondly, I would love to work with our coach to plan training sessions to make the most of every second of training to help us reach, and hopefully surpass, the level our coach envisions to achieve this season. This would include targeted drills for safer tumbling and stunting when learning new skills, as well as strength-focused

Isabelle Koh En Qi

Hi Spark! I remember being so anxious at our first cheer session. What if I couldn’t make friends? What if I wasn’t good enough? Questions like these occupied my mind, but you guys could not have proved more that these worries were completely and utterly unfounded.

The main reason I’m running for Captain is because I believe that this team is something worth fighting for. You have thoroughly inspired me with your perseverance to always give your best and your never-ending encouragements for each other. I’m so invested in this team growing into the close family of trust and support I can see us becoming, and would love to be part of making that dream a reality.

Together, I hope to organise other bonding projects— like day trips out of London, secret “angel-mortal” pairings who would provide support to each other through anonymous letters and gifts, or even create customised Spark accessories like team shirts, caps or socks!

I’ve experienced being House Captain and Exco member of Student Council in High School, and the Captain of my sports team. I find it so rewarding and fulfilling to work with the team that has brought me so much happiness and friendship. I promise to take on my role responsibly and enthusiastically if elected!

After all, I hope for Spark to be our safe space— where everyone feels welcomed, empowered, supported, and is able to find a strong sense of belonging in both the sport and the people around them. I’m so excited for what there is in store for us!

Ella Robertet

Hi! My name is Ella and I'm running for Spark Captain. 💜

I was on Charge last year and am so glad to be competing competitively this year. Since this is my last year at UCL, I wanted to give my team as much as I could before I graduate. When I first joined UCL, I was skeptical of joining a sports society and doubted anywhere would be the right fit for me, but when I was pushed to try cheer I immediately felt the support and energy from all the members. I'd love to organize some socials for Spark to bond and get to know each other better, and strengthening our team will shine through our performances!

Klara Parish

I would love to be spark captain because I love to inspire people and make them feel heard, seen and valued. I know that being a leader means being a listener, and I want every member to feel like their voice is heard. I also believe that trust is a foundation for a strong team, so as captain I would build that trust both on and off the mat to strengthen our team and cheer family. I want to create a safe, encouraging, supportive environment so that we can progress and reach our highest potential. I’m very organized, dedicated and prepared to handle the responsibilities that come with being captain. I feel like this year, as a team, we can accomplish great things. I promise to motivate us all and cheer for each one of you no matter what !
