I have volunteered in various leadership roles building a strong sense of responsibility
in me as well as developing different skills. Whilst studying for my GCSEs, I was a
boarding leader, a Deputy House Captain and a member of the School Council. Only
then did I truly understand the sentence “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Thereafter I became keen on taking up leadership and responsibility in the
community. During my sixth-form years, I have served as a School Council representative, a
House Prefect and a member of the Well-being Committee. These valuable
opportunities have equipped me with organisational and communication skills. I have participated in organising various events for pupils to build a sense of belonging to the community, including house formal dinner, sports Saturday and Charity Day.
As a member of the school council in both of my previous schools, I have
actively dealt with pupils’ concerns by raising them in meetings with teachers. This
role helped me understand that making balanced decisions by listening to different
perspectives is essential for a positive relationship between pupils.

I would like to nominate myself to be the social secretary, building a welcoming and lively community within the club, where everyone feels included and safe at every event. With my enthusiasm and creativity, I am looking forward to creating unique and memorable social experiences for all the members.

Hey everyone!!! I am Alyssia and would love to be involved as a social sec this year 🫶🏼

I’m a fun and approachable person and I love meeting new people which is why I joined cheer in the first place. My main aim is to help create an environment where everyone feels comfortable to join in and come alone as I know how daunting it can be. I want to create lasting memories with the team as a whole so we all have great experiences of our time at cheer!

I am an extremely positive and happy person, and want to bring this into our socials and make sure everyone feels welcome. I never stop smiling too :) I’d love to help plan our weekly socials including choosing our dress code themes- I love fancy dress and have so many ideas already. I also am a big arts and crafts fan and would love to do more non-alcoholic socials where we can just chill and do some fun crafting activities. As a social sec I would also be eager to do lots more collaborations with other societies so we can all meet different people and try new things.

As much as I love to go out, I understand the responsibility that comes with a role like this and I will ensure I keep everyone safe and included. I will be extremely dedicated to ensuring all our events run smoothly and that we create a strong bond for this year!

Sorry if this is a long paragraph haha :) but I do love bringing people together and just having fun so please vote for me to have a memorable and brilliant year together!!!

Thank you!!!!

Alyssia 🩷
