Being The Cure
Being The Cure's mission is to develop the next generation of society's heroes through our evidence-informed character education that instils honesty, kindness, and humility in every child.

Being the Cure is closing a moral gap that the education system has left wide open. In London, most children grow up without access to formal character education, a privilege reserved for wealthier boroughs. We’re changing that. Through our free Saturday Schools for Heroism, we give vulnerable children aged 8–18 the chance to build moral courage, emotional strength, and the values of humility, honesty, and kindness, qualities that protect them from crime, build empathy, and strengthen communities.
Our Heroism Framework fills a crucial gap in the National Curriculum by guiding families and schools to nurture moral reasoning and purpose. We already train teachers and leaders to embed character education across lessons, multiplying the impact beyond our Saturday Schools for Heroism.

We are seeking to collaborate with a master’s student to explore the impact of our Saturday School for Heroism. We are open to student ideas for academic framings for this research. Key themes are suggested below:

- Values-led education /Character Education
- Child development / Psychology /Moral Development
- Education models / Social Emotional Learning
- Social belonging and community

We have four years’ worth of impact data ripe for analysis and evaluation. Students would also be welcome to collect original data if necessary.
