📣 Welcome to the Global Remembrance Society!
We are the first UCL society dedicated to the duty of remembrance, which we hope to cultivate through discussions, visits, conferences, movie and documentary screenings as well as testimonies.
📅 TERM 1:
- Meet us at the UCL Welcome Fair (25 September)
- Presentation Session (meet the GRS and its committee) on October 8 + Meet and Greet @ The Institute Bar
- Visit to the Imperial War Museum London on 15 October
- Poppy sale on campus in collaboration with the Royal British Legion (volunteer or donate!)
- Movie screening of newly released Nuremberg movie starring Russell Crowe & Rami Malek (TBD in November)
- Social event before Winter Break / Documentary screening & Pizzas
INCOMING EVENTS (TBC)
- Testimony of Rwandan Genocide survivor (in collaboration with the SURF Institute)
- Testimony of Holocaust survivor
- Visit to the Churchill War Rooms
- Reflections on the creation of a duty of remembrance in Gaza
- Imperial War Museum, V&A and British Museum exclusive guided visits
- Collaboration with UCL societies regarding remembrance (Ukrainian, Armenian, African, Francophone...)
