Welcome to the UCL Dutch and Flemish Society! / Welkom bij de UCL Nederlandse en Vlaamse Vereniging!

We were founded in January 2022, aiming to unite UCL students from The Netherlands, the Flemish Community and everyone who is interested in the prestigious culture of the Low Countries. Throughout the academic year, we will undertake a variety of miscellaneous activities both on the UCL site and external venues.

The events scheduled for this academic year include pub evenings (bitterballen obviously provided), Dutch karaoke nights, Sinterklaas, Dutch national team World / European Cup viewings and our famous King's Day boat party in term 3 to honour our King Willem(pie). We also collaborate regularly with Dutch societies from other universities and European country societies at UCL. Besides, we have strong links with the Dutch as well as the Flemish Embassy in London, where we host multiple on-site events for those interested in cultural, historical and political issues.

For those who are interested in learning Dutch, we will be organising language classes starting at A1 level. What's even better, is that these classes are completely free. These classes will be in an interactive environment with improving cultural and linguistic understanding as one of the central aims.
