A screening of the National Theatre production the the Importance of Being Earnest with Ncuti Gatwa & Hugh Skinner. A movie night but more theatrical, with blankets and snacks. A chance to make friends, meet Drama Society committee members and get a taste of what Drama Society is all about.
A chance to find out how the audition process works for Drama Society shows, and meet some committee members and future Drama Soc pals. In this session participants will practice choosing and preparing a audition piece, and have a chance to perform as they would in the audition room, receiving redirection, feedback, and top tips, in a low-pressure, friendly environment.
A picnic for participants to eat, chat, enjoy the (hopefully!) beautiful weather, and try their hand at some low-pressure acting with a read-through of a play. As a bonus, Drama Society committee members will be attending, so participants can get to know the Committee and ask any questions they might have about the society. Participants are free to drop in/drop out as they please.
A chance to have a drink and a chat with committee members and prospective members of the theatrical type, as well as a chance to visit a couple of student bars. A joint social between Drama Society, Musical Theatre Society, Shakespeare Society, and Stage Crew Society. An interest in theatre and the performing arts is recommended, alcohol consumption not required.
