James has shown an outstanding commitment to student media, becoming The Cheese Grater’s most consistent writer with an impressive 33 published articles. His work is driven by a clear passion for public interest journalism and uncovering significant issues affecting students, for example, the treatment of a bereaved student by Student Finance. His investigative reporting has also made an impact within the Students’ Union, with his work on Union bars prompting discussions to improve student spaces. From leading weekly meetings to contributing to major projects like the Leadership Race special issue to regularly hosting ‘Grater Insight’ on RareFM, James has demonstrated exceptional leadership as The Cheese Grater’s News & Investigations Editor.

Since joining The Cheese Grater at the start of the academic year, Seth has made an exceptional impact in the society by contributing to 15 articles, with their work featured in almost every issue. Their versatility sets them apart, contributing across investigations, humour, and opinion pieces, while also playing a key role in the society’s sketch group. Seth was a leading journalist on one of the publication’s most widely viewed investigation pieces, recognised with an SPA nomination and an individual nomination for the Rising Star award. Elected as both Humour & Satire Editor and Sketch Director, they are the only incoming committee member to hold two roles, highlighting the trust placed in them by their peers.
