What's the National Student Survey?
The National Student Survey (NSS) informs future students about courses and Universities across the UK. Final-year Undergraduate students are eligible to complete the survey about their experiences of UCL so far.
How do your Academic Reps use the NSS?
Did you know that we have over 2,000 Academic Reps within our Academic Rep Network? They are elected or appointed to the role at the start of each academic year to represent your academic interests.
Your Academic Reps attend Student Staff Consultative Committees (SSCCs) to raise issues related to your academic and student experience. At the SSCCs, departments present their action plans in response to feedback from the NSS.
How has the NSS influenced what your Academic Reps do?
Your Academic Reps ensure that departments are held to account and are following up on their NSS action plans to improve your academic and student experience.
Academic Reps have been pivotal in sharing good practices, particularly around assessment and feedback. Other Academic Reps have produced surveys to ensure that measures included in departmental action plans are relevant to current students.

"Taking part in the NSS is a great way for you to help shape the university experience of future students. By filling out this survey, the university will have a better understanding of where improvements need to be made. As the Education Officer, I have seen first-hand how this data has been used to create real change" said Education Officer, Hamza Ahmed.
