When sport returns, be ready!

There is finally a return to sport on the horizon for Term 3, and with that in mind it is time to start preparing! You don't want to get injured after being unable to play for so long, so it is really important that your body is ready to hit the ground running. There needs to be a strength element to your training and this is why we have started UCL HIIT classes.

Jordan, TeamUCL's Strength and Conditioning Coach, says:

  • "Even without much equipment or space, strength training outcomes can still be achieved during lockdown. With strength, power, endurance and flexibility being challenged in some of our weekly strength and conditioning classes."
  • "Strength training, doesn’t have to be with the biggest dumbbell or barbell. Gains can be made from finding both the right exercises and angles ensuring that you leave each session feeling stronger and more accomplished than when you first logged onto the video call!"
  • "It’s impossible to predict injury, as no two injuries are the same. However, with the right preparation and training, you can be both robust and resilient to your sports competitive demands. No one wants to miss time from the sport they love due to injury! Our classes can help you prepare in the best way possible to show up in the best shape every time!"

All classes are hosted online via zoom by TeamUCL's Strength and Conditioning Coach, Jordan. 'TeamUCL HIIT' is on Mondays 9am - 9:45am and Fridays 7am - 7:45am and tickets are FREE for all TeamUCL members. Follow this link to sign up now: https://studentsunionucl.org/tags/teamuclclasses
